Tripoli - United States (U.S.) claim to find missiles and mortar shells that littered the ground Libya. The missiles were believed to be a residual force of the former Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi.
Approximately 5000 missiles between the mainland are found in several locations in the country which is now in transition. But not explained whether most of the missile is still active or not.
"There certainly is still difficult to determine," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Toner U.S. told AFP on Saturday (12/24/2011).
"We will continue to support the Government of Libya in conducting disarmament, minimizing mobilization of the militia. We also support efforts to prevent rejoining militias," added Toner.
Parties to the U.S. State Department continues to evaluate how many missiles are left over relics of Gaddafi. According to Toner remaining missiles can membayahakan civil aviation which will air across Libya.
But at the same time, Toner dismissed the news that the U.S. seeks a chance to buy back some of the weapons that may have been stolen from tumpuhkan weapons that are left unattended.
"Now we are faced with the challenge to destroy these weapons. We are looking for a method of destruction (weapons) is appropriate," he continued.
