Wheldon IndyCar Racing Killed In Accident

LAS VEGAS : And Wheldon British rider killed in a severe accident while following the IndyCar 300 race in Las Vegas, United States, Sunday. Wheldon (33), winner of the famous Indianapolis 500 race in May this year, died after his vehicle drifted as far as about 15 meters and hit another vehicle.

Some vehicles float in the accident and fell off on the track. "IndyCar very sorry to announce that Dan Wheldon had died from the wounds injury accident," said Chief Executive IndyCar, Randy Bernard.

"We grieve and pray for him and his family," he said. Wheldon friends have been informed about the rider's death before Bernard was officially announced to the public.

"IndyCar, the driver and owner, decided to end the race. To honor and Wheldon, the riders do five laps gently on the circuit," said Bernard.
