Texas Rangers, confirmed that Nowitzki will be debuting on the baseball field when they face
St. Louis Cardinals, Saturday (22/10).
Previously, MLB had refused and crossed out the name of the Dallas Mavericks superstar from the list of pitchers who filed the Rangers. MLB spokesman Pat Courtney, told reporters that he and his staff ranks are not sure of Nowitzki's decision to move to baseball.
"It's not really a concern of the commissioners. Commissioner said, if that is what the Rangers, that's good. Nowitzki name has now been listed," Courtney said as reported by USA Today.
A source revealed the Rangers, MLB rejection against Nowitzki is a form of solidarity to the NBA lockout was to his players. However, Courtney has denied the claim. "MLB confirms, the selection of pitchers has nothing to do with the situation in the NBA today," said Courtney.
"We all know Nowitzki has been playing in this field before, and that's good. We're glad she's in this league," said Courtney again.
