KABUL - Afghan President Hamid Karzai said that if the emerging battle between the United States (U.S.) and Iran, keep Afghanistan from war.
Karzai emphasized that Afghanistan is a country that borders Iran. Afghanistan also has much in common with Persian Affairs, but Afghans do not want to be involved in fighting the U.S. and Iran.
The U.S. also said it would soon send a spy plane RQ-170 Sentinel, as it crashed in Iran, to operate in Afghanistan. According to the U.S., the plane that crashed in Iran is a plane that actually operated in Afghanistan.
"Afghanistan does not know anything about the events of the loss of U.S. spy plane in Iran. So, Afghanistan did not want to be involved in this dispute. We want our relationship remains good against Iran and the U.S.. Afghanistan also does not want its territory used as a battlefield," said Karzai, as quoted by CNN, Thursday (15/12/2011).
However, U.S. Defence Secretary confirmed Leon Panetta, a spy plane operating in the border region of Afghanistan and Iran will still run even though the U.S. lost a sophisticated aircraft.
"The operation of this aircraft not only to protect Afghanistan, but also will protect the United States who were seeking intelligence information," said Panetta.
